Dominion is a powerhouse of heavy, driving metal. With the
most recent release of 'Awakening - the revelation,' 14 more tracks
of their devastating hybrid metal have been released upon the masses.
From the opening pummeling of 'Punishment' to the solid groove of
'Sold My Soul' or the punk infused 'Not Good,' every extreme music
fan can find something to like in this diverse yet hard hitting effort. Proclaimed as '14 Songs of Life, Love, Hate and Pain,' extreme emotions are evident throughout the growls, screams and melodies of this disc. "This album is a soundtrack to one of the darkest periods we have ever been through as a band," explains Brian Villers, guitarist and backing vocalist for the group. Although anger would appear the foremost thought on these artists minds, a tinge of hope seems to shine through. "Yet as we stayed tight with each other, and found new ways to collaborate in the songwriting process, we experienced an 'Awakening' as far as who we are as a band. We hope the listener feels the wide range of emotions we were experiencing as we compiled this material." Forged in 1992 under the snowfall of Colorado, the band soon became local legends unleashing their unique take on metal by opening for a long list of metal heavyweights. Three studio albums later, the group finds themselves in a position to take that sound to a broader audience via Roadside Attraction. |
